Mexico City based gallery joségarcía ,mx presents new works by Danish sculptor Marie Lund.
I have to admit that this was the first time I came across Marie Lund (*1976, DK) but I fell in love with her work immediatley. The Danish artist’s sculptural practice is concerned with materials and objects and how they behave when being exposed to a certain force or time. At joségarcía ,mx she works with copper and concrete. The copper works consist of thin sheets and are placed by the windows, doors and corners of the gallery space. They are so delicate that they can almost be mistaken for paintings. The solid concrete blocks are placed on the floor. The one in the inner courtyard blends in so well with its surroundings that it is hard to detect.
Since Marie Lund lives and works in London, I hope to see more of her works around here. If you’re in Mexico City you should definitely see this show, it is on until the end of the month.
On show through 31 March 2018
